Slotstop's free Rummy online guide
The guys here at Slotstop have brought you these online Rummy rules to teach you how to play Rummy online. Online Rummy games, with a bit of practice, are easy to play. Rummy online providers may each offer slight variations, but the online Rummy rules are all basically the same.
The players in online Rummy rules
The first of the free Rummy online tips is that there are two players in online Rummy games.
The deck in online Rummy games
Slotstop's free Rummy online guide will now examine the deck used to play Rummy online. Online Rummy rules use a standard deck of 52 cards. Aces adopt their low value when you play Rummy online, meaning the Ace is worth 1 point, K, Q, and J are worth 10, and the other cards are worth their stated value in online Rummy games.
Online Rummy rules #3: Dealing
The third of Slotstop's free Rummy online rules looks at the dealing of the cards. 10 cards are dealt to each competitor when you play Rummy online. A single card is then dealt, face up (the upcard), next to the remaining down facing cards (the stock), forming the discard pile in online Rummy games.
Online Rummy rules: The goal
The fourth free Rummy online rule is the forming of melds when you play Rummy online. The online Rummy strategies are to acquire either 3 or 4 cards which are valued the same (ie. 4 of diamonds, 4 of spades, and 4 of hearts) in online Rummy games, or consecutively valued cards in a suit (ie. 4, 5, and 6 of diamonds). When you play Rummy online you must also try to keep the total value of your unmatched cards to a minimum, as this comes into play later in the online Rummy rules.
Free Rummy online rule #5 - playing
Competitors both draw from the stock alternatively, and then put a different card in the discard pile when they play Rummy online, or they take an upcard. One of the online Rummy tips is to keep a close eye on the other player's discard, as you can use it to make up your hand in online Rummy games.
Free Rummy online rule #6 - Knocking
The next step in learning how to play online Rummy is to know when to knock. You can knock at any time in online Rummy games, as long as your unmatched cards total less than ten. You then get rid of a card in the discard pile, and arrange your other cards into sequences of melds and those unmatched. Presuming that there are unmatched cards in the knocker's hand when you play Rummy online, then the other player can add to the knocker's melds with his own unmatched cards.
Online Rummy rules: Scoring and Undercutting
If a competitor has no unmatched cards when he knocks in online Rummy games, then he has gone gin. This is the best online Rummy hand; he scores 25 points, as well as the total score from his opponent's unmatched cards. If gin isn't achieved, then whoever has the least unmatched total scores the difference between both players' unmatched hands. If this is the competitor who didn't knock, then they undercut and receive a further 20 points.
